My approach to care is rooted in the knowledge that growth and the development of new capacity is an ongoing process that can be accessed at any age or life stage. This positive vision recognizes your potential to learn new ways of doing and being, and is grounded in the science of neuroplasticity – adaptive brain development to support new pathways.
I employ psychopharmacology in support of stabilization – when needed, and engage in psychotherapy with a focus on the development of internal resources to support and sustain gains. By enhancing psychological growth and re-patterning of the nervous system overall – cognitive, emotional and in the body (somatic), it may be possible to reduce medication to the lowest possible doses, and possibly discontinue.
The use of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Mindfulness Training aligns with this orientation; the medication is delivered in an interventional manner that accelerates biological gains and supports processes of transformation – such as acceptance and clarification of purpose and new states of being.
My approach to psychological development emphasizes:
- Clarification of the Mind
- Compassion and Self Acceptance
These themes are engaged across an array of psychotherapy modalities – from psychodynamic to cognitive (CBT) to dialectical (DBT), with integration of somatic (body based) techniques to supports the process.
